Title: Igniting the Change

Inspired by the tragic events of the BP oil rig explosion that caused large amounts of oil to leak into the Gulf of Mexico, killed thousands of animals, and affected the lives of many people. Raising awareness about this issue is one way of preventing future environmental problems. The faux feathers are used to portray the animals affected by the oil.

Techniques: custom dyed feathers and hand-sewn feather application
Materials: Organic wool, faux goose feathers, Jacquard acid dye and a recycled jersey dress.
