For zero-waste, the number of pleats and dimensions was calculated to utilize the whole width of the fabric. The initial calculation resulted in 46 pleats that are uneven for front and back bodice due to the measurement differences between bust and waist.

All the pleats were sewn down to the waistline after countering the bust area through the fitting.  The final design successfully displays the contoured basque look with nearly no waste of fabric.
