2012 Juried Exhibition

American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences (AAFCS), Indianapolis, IN

Apparel Construction Techniques is a staple course in the fashion and apparel field. Although students can execute individual samples, they often have difficulties applying the techniques on their own projects. Because fashion students are often visual learners, the techniques application is much easier when they see the actual garment rather than square shape samples.

Therefore, the purpose of this project was to develop a visual reference for the Apparel Construction Techniques course.

There are forty-five sample techniques combined in this shirt and skirt in addition to various seam allowances and stitching applications.
